Wheel loaders are the most common type of loaders available. A wheel loader operates on wheels for locomotion as opposed to tracks. A wheel loader is a type of tractor, typically with a large, rectangular box attachment connected to the front end by two arms or booms. Other types of attachments may be used depending upon the task the wheel loader is needed to perform, for example a wheel loader might be used to lift and move pallets or lumber.
The primary use of a wheel loader is to pick up and move materials from one place to another or from teh ground to a vehicle such as a dump truck. Materials a wheel loader might handle could be; broken concrete, debris from a demolition site, rocks, gravel, sand, and so on and so forth.
Wheel loaders have become increasingly popular in recent years for urban construction and small earthmoving projects. There are as many uses for a wheel loader as there are manufacturers, but the most prominent developers of wheel loaders are; John Deere, Case, Caterpillar, Kawasaki, Komatsu, Liebherr and Volvo to name a few.
