Trailers are generally a type of vehicle that requires a motorized vehicle to tow or pull it. Trailers come in many shapes and sizes typically dependent upon the function desired from the trailer. Commercial trailers tend to come in many types and are intended to haul merchandise, material or equipment from one place to another.
There are open air trailers for hauling equipment exposed to the outdoors, there are utility trailers for hauling light pieces of equipment such aas sign or message boards and there are enclosed trailers both refrigerated and non-refrigerated, to haul goods and materials that are vulnerable to the effects of travel exposed to the elements.
Trailers made for hauling equipment are much like flatbed trucks, but with out the truck. This enables them to carry more equipment simultaneously or haul the really big, heavy duty machinery.
