Snorkel Fire Equipment Company was founded in 1958 to market the Snorkel, a revolutionary new elevating platform design for fire fighting and rescue work. These products set the standard for aerial fire fighting equipment that has endured the test of time. In 1971 the company was sold to ATO Inc which later became Figgie. In 1977 they entered the construction industry with the first Snorkelift telescoping aerial work platform. In 1997 Snorkel became a part of OnmiQuip International Inc. In 2007 The Tanfield Group purchased Snorkel who are also the current owners of UpRight.
The combination of Snorkel's volume production capability in the USA and Australia plus UpRight's existing facilities in the UK and USA truly creates a business with a global manufacturing footprint.
Some of Snorkel's aerial work platforms include telescopic and jib booms, articulating booms, vertical mast lifts, slab scissors, rough terrain scissors, trailer mounts and push arounds.
