ScatTrak is a company that manufacturers rubber tire skid steers. In 2002 Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE), Asheville, N.C., acquired the rights to the Scat Trak skid steer loader line of equipment. Scat Trak loaders were formerly manufactured by the OmniQuip subsidiary of Textron Inc., Providence, R.I.
Volvo Construction Equipment is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction machines. In 1950, AB Volvo bought the machine manufacturer Bolinder-Munktell (BM). In 1973, the company name was changed to Volvo BM AB. During the 1980s and 1990s, a number of American, European and Asian construction equipment manufacturers were purchased. In 1995, the name was changed to Volvo Construction Equipment.
