A Sanyo subsidiary, supplies nickel metal hydride batteries to Honda Motor Co. Ltd. and Ford Motor Co. Audi is planning an alliance with Sanyo to develop a pilot hybrid project for Volkswagen.
From their technology in batteries they started to manufacture utility carts for a period of time.
