MEC has been in business for more then 50 years. In 2001, the Aerial Work Platform division of Mayville Engineering Company in Wisconsin made a decision to cease operations of their Scissor Division with no apparent buyer in the wings. In 2004, Jim Tolle and Craig Braun, of Equipment Parts Wholesale, Fresno, California, finalized a deal that included purchase of existing inventory, parts, tooling and design rights.
Within a few months, new generation MEC machines were being built in Selma, California and MEC manufactures and distributes ten of the original 12 MEC models and have added two additional products: the 2633ES and the 3772RT. In 2006, MEC expanded its product line to include two new models of Telescopic Handlers – The TH60 with a rated load capacity of 6,000 lbs. and a lift height of 41.5 ft. and the TH80 with a rated load capacity of 8,000 lbs and a lift height of 41.5 ft.
MEC manufacturers compact electric scissors with the 1532ES and 1932ES, mid-narrow electric scissors with the 2033ES and the 2633ES, the mid-wide electric scissors with the 2047ES, 2647ES and 3247ES, midsize rough terrain scissors with the 3072RT and the 3772RT, midsize electric rough terrain scissors with the 3072ES and the 3772ES, large rough terrain scissors with the 2591RT, the 3391RT and the 4191RT, large electric rough terrain scissors with the 2591ES the 3391ES and the 4191ES, ultra-deck rough terrain scissor lifts with the 4492RT and the 5492RT, rough terrain speed level sigma lifts with the 2684RT and the 3084RT, and electric rough terrain speed level sigma lifts with the 2684ES and the 3084ES.
The MEC TH80 Telescopic Handler is the latest addition the MEC family of industrial lift products. Product highlights include an 8,000 lbs. (3629 kg) lifting capacity and a 41.5 ft. (12.m) lift height.
