Freightliner Trucks is a manufacturer of heavy duty trucks, chassis and semi-trailer trucks in the United States. The company was founded as Freightliner LLC in 1942 and is now a division of Daimler Trucks North America. Daimler Trucks North America is the largest manufacturer of heavy-duty vehicles in North America and a leading manufacturer of medium-duty vehicles. The company is known mainly for the heavy duty class 8 diesel trucks that it produces, as well as class 5-7 trucks.
As of 2005 Freightliner is the largest manufacturer of heavy duty trucks in North America. Some of their models include Argosy, Cascadia (also known as the P3), Coronado, Century Class S/T (also known as the P2), Columbia, Classic and Classic XL, FLD SD, Business Class M2e Hybrid, Business Class M2 106, Business Class M2 112, Business Class M2 106V, Business Class M2 112V, Sprinter, Step Van MT-45, Step Van MT-55 and the SelecTrucks.
