Amigo is an American company created by Al Thieme. Al Thieme theme created the first "friendly wheelchair" in 1968. He was personally motivated to create this product in order to help a family member diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. It was brand named the Amigo and it initiated the entire scooter industry. Since then, thousands of people with mobility limitations around the world have experienced personal freedom and independence on their Amigo power operated vehicles (POVs).
Some of Amigo's models include the Smartshopper, Valueshopper, Powershopper, Smartchair Shopper, and the Smart Charge.
